Blunt Talk

Departing a little bit from network TV, Sony screened for us Starz latest comedy series Blunt Talk airing on August 22nd 2015. Starring Patrick Stuart (Yes, Captain Jean Luc Picard), and produced by Seth MacFarlane (Family Guy) this raunchy comedy follows the life of a British newscaster named Walter Blunt. He is a fish out of water, living and working in Los Angeles with his very own alcoholic manservant.

Im going to go out on a limb here and make a bold comparison. Think of this as Starz answer to VEEP but a very dirty version.

Patrick Stuart is bold, crass but at the same time you feel a little sorry for him. While he is not relatable, you get drawn in by the innocence of his vulgarities.

If you like twisted humour then this show is for you. But be warned, you do need to give it two episodes to give you the momentum - one is simply not enough.

Patrick Stewart is Walter Blunt in Blunt Talk, a new comedy created by Jonathan Ames and Executive Produced by Seth MacFarlane. Coming this summer to STARZ.

Limitless

Continuing the theme of movies coming to TV is Limitless by executive producer Bradley Cooper. Once again, CBS is not trying to adapt, but merely continue the story using a different central character played by Jake McDorman as Brian Finch who like Bradley Cooper's character in the feature film Limitless, gets his had on the brain enhancing drug NZT.

Going from lazy slacker to FBI Agent, Brian must help them solve complex cases for them in exchange for a daily dose of NZT. But, Brian is in a bit of a bind, if he doesn't take his NZT he goes through crazy withdrawal and will revert back to couch mode. But, in all experiments with the FBI, those on NZT eventually die a terrible death.

In walks Senator, Edward Edward Mora. Yup! Played by Bradley Cooper himself who will be making guest appearances throughout the series. The Senator has a proposition of Brian. He too will supply the NZT and a drug only he knows about that will help him become invincible to the NZT death. In exchange, Brian must occasionally do the Senator favours.

Limitless, is fun, fast paced and if you are a fan of the movie, you will certainly love this series. The characters are gritty and the story builds with good momentum. Brian is the perfect agent, being that he can use 100% of his brain and can solve crimes faster than all agents combined. This is the telling of a modern superhero!

Based on the 2011 feature, Limitless follows Brian Finch as he discovers the power of the mysterious drug NZT. In this new drama from executive producer Bradley Cooper, explore what happens when a man unlocks his limitless potential. This Fall on CBS.

Minority Report

Based on the mega hit movie, produced by Steven Spielberg, Minority Report is a continuation rather than a remake. Told 10 years after Precrime has been banished, the precogs have been released and set into the world to live as free people.

For those of you that have not seen the movie, don't worry about it. In the first 5min you get caught up. But here is some definitions to help you along:

Precrime:  a law enforcement agency tasked with identifying and eliminating criminals…before their crimes were committed.

Precogs aka precognitives: Precime used three siblings that were able to see the future, Dash, Arthur and Agatha, to help stop crimes before they occurred.

Ok, now that your kinda caught up. Let me continue....

Dash, is now grown up but suffers from fragmented visions of the future crimes, but they are not complete. Driven by a drive to help humanity he tries his best to stop these crimes before they begin but he is just too late.
